Patient-centered psychiatric care led by a dual board-certified nurse practitioner in New York and Connecticut.
Meet Your Provider
Eva Nyarko is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner deeply passionate about making quality mental health care accessible, compassionate, and effective. She holds dual board certifications — as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Eva's training in both family medicine and psychiatric care gives her the ability to understand a patient's health holistically — recognizing the profound connection between physical health and mental well-being. She has experience working with adults and adolescents across a range of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and sleep concerns.
She takes the time to truly listen — to understand not just the symptoms, but the person behind them. Eva is committed to building trusting, long-term therapeutic relationships. She is faith-friendly and honors each individual's beliefs and values as part of their healing process.
Eva is licensed to practice in both New York and Connecticut, offering both in-person and telehealth appointments to expand access to care.
Our Practice
Serene Mind NP in Psychiatry PLLC was founded on the belief that every person deserves compassionate, unhurried, and effective mental health care — regardless of where they are in their journey.
Every interaction is grounded in empathy and respect. We see the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Every patient's story matters.
Treatment decisions are guided by current clinical research, best practices, and continuing education in psychopharmacology.
We collaborate with patients as partners in their care, respecting their autonomy, values, and personal preferences throughout treatment.
Telehealth and in-person options remove barriers and bring quality psychiatric care to more people across New York and Connecticut.
We honor each individual's beliefs and values as a meaningful part of their healing process, including patients of faith.
Clear communication with your primary care team and therapists ensures seamless, whole-person care without silos.
What We Offer
Evidence-based psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for adults and adolescents across New York and Connecticut.
Your initial psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive 60–90 minute appointment designed to understand your full clinical picture. We conduct a thorough diagnostic interview, mental status examination, review of psychiatric and medical history, and medication reconciliation.
At the conclusion of your evaluation, we'll discuss diagnostic impressions, answer your questions, and collaboratively develop an individualized treatment plan aligned with your goals and values.
Ongoing psychiatric medication management for established patients includes prescription monitoring, dose optimization, side effect management, and labs coordination. Follow-up appointments are typically 20–30 minutes and can be conducted via telehealth for convenience.
We coordinate closely with your primary care provider and therapist to ensure integrated, whole-person care — no silos.
Comprehensive ADHD evaluation and treatment for adults and adolescents. We conduct a thorough diagnostic workup including symptom history, functional impairment assessment, and collateral information when appropriate.
Treatment includes both stimulant and non-stimulant medication options, psychoeducation, and ongoing monitoring. We coordinate with school counselors, therapists, and PCPs as part of a comprehensive care team approach.
Personalized evaluation and medication management for anxiety disorders, major depressive disorder, and treatment-resistant depression. We use current evidence-based pharmacological approaches and collaborate with therapists providing CBT or psychotherapy for integrated outcomes.
For patients with treatment-resistant depression, we discuss advanced options and facilitate referrals to appropriate specialists as needed.
Evaluation and management of bipolar spectrum disorders, cyclothymia, mood instability, and sleep concerns with psychiatric etiology. We take a careful, systematic approach to mood stabilization with attention to medication safety and metabolic monitoring.
Sleep disturbances often co-occur with psychiatric conditions — we evaluate and address sleep as part of the overall treatment plan rather than in isolation.
Trauma-informed psychiatric care for PTSD and trauma-related conditions. We provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for patients navigating the effects of trauma, with evidence-based pharmacological support and close collaboration with trauma-specialized therapists.
Our approach honors each patient's pace and values, including those of faith, and focuses on building safety, stability, and long-term recovery.
Eva offers professional mentorship, business consultation, and preceptorship for nurse practitioner students and new NP graduates. With dual board certifications in family practice and psychiatric-mental health, Eva brings a uniquely comprehensive perspective to NP practice development.
Whether you are launching an independent practice, navigating your first NP role, or seeking clinical preceptorship hours, Eva is passionate about equipping the next generation of advanced practice nurses with the tools, confidence, and strategy to thrive.
